Your Guide to Disney Park Tickets: What You Need to Know Before You Go
Planning a Walt Disney World vacation? One of the first steps after deciding when to go is choosing the right Disney Park Tickets. With several ticket options available, it’s important to understand how they work so you can make the most of your time (and budget!) in the parks.
Here’s a complete breakdown of the different types of Disney tickets and how to choose the best one for your trip.
Standard Theme Park Tickets
A Standard Ticket (often called a 1 Park Per Day Ticket) lets you visit one park per day — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
You can visit the same park multiple days if you wish, but you can’t hop between parks on the same day with this ticket.
Perfect for:
Families who prefer a more relaxed pace and want to fully explore one park each day.
Park Hopper Tickets
With a Park Hopper Ticket, you can visit more than one park per day.
Guests can start their day in one park and “hop” to another anytime. Park Hopping allows you to enjoy an early morning at Magic Kingdom, then head to EPCOT for dinner and fireworks!
Perfect for:
Guests who like flexibility and want to experience multiple parks or dining options in one day.
Park Hopper Plus Tickets
The Park Hopper Plus Option includes all the benefits of Park Hopper — plus admission to select Disney Water Parks and more!
You’ll receive a set number of “Plus Visits” equal to the number of days on your park ticket. These can be used for:
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (when open)
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
ESPN Wide World of Sports
Disney Miniature Golf Courses (Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland)
Perfect for:
Guests planning longer vacations who want to mix in water park fun or golf between park days.
Date-Based Tickets
Most Disney tickets are date-based, meaning your price depends on the start date of your trip. You’ll select a start date, and your ticket will be valid for a set number of days after that (for example, a 4-day ticket is valid over 7 days).
Child and Multi-Day Discounts
Children ages 3–9 receive discounted pricing, and kids under 3 do not need a ticket.
Buying multi-day tickets also lowers the cost per day — so the longer you stay, the more value you get!
